Correction. Grog is bisque fired clay that has been ground down into small particles and mixed into unfired clay to give it stability and structure. Some clays also have speckles which are made from metals like magnese and they are what give the final glaze results additional depth and character. Some clays have neither grog or speckles and this is the clay we have our students work with most often in studio.
There are over 200+ glaze colours in studio but it's impossible to resist some of the new colours they keep producing!
