Wheel Throwing at Sees Thru Trees Pottery Studio

When learning how to throw on the pottery wheel, it's  a bit trickier than one might imagine. There are lots of tips and tricks to help beginners produce successful clay works. In this video Jennifer demonstrates how to mitigate a large, slightly asymmetrical bowl.

Work Time is Play Time

In the studio, fun is as important as fantastic results. We don't take ourselves too seriously. It's a great space to lighten up, let go of the worries of daily life and escape into a world of creative clay and colour.

PBS Art of Inspiration

90-second interview conducted by PBS featuring Jen's perspective on teaching

Work Time is Play Time

You don't have to be 'a natural' to throw successful vessels on the pottery wheel, child or adult. Granted, first timer's works might look like a beginner did it, but this is why colour is critical. Colour is what makes all work look like a masterpiece. Students have a wide array of colours to choose from.  There's a glaze colour to match just about any personality or preference with dozens of glaze samples to choose from.

Look at all the Colours!

Late spring 2026 studio owner's collection of recent works showcasing a diverse range of glaze colours all of which are available to students. Follow seesthrutrees on YouTube for more inspiration.

These are student clay creations, both kid and adult work. There is no student too young or too old to explore clay at Sees Thru Trees.
